Download or update to the latest version of Google Chrome. Connect your PC and Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network. I'll keep you posted if this solves my problem. Ensure that your Google Chromecast is powered on. Follow all the prompts until you get to the WiFi setup screen. I called ATT again and they are sending me a new gateway since the 5268AC was a 2017 model. Connect your Chromecast to the TV and use your phone or tablet to run the Google Home setup utility.
Now UPNP is enabled and I am getting 300+ mbs on the chromecast yet there are still some apps like NeverThink and Pluto TV that still will not open saying they cannot connect. I ended up getting a TP link AX1800 router and set up the 5268AC in bridgemode. The thing was that ATT had this locked down so that you cannot change these settings. Google support suggested setting UPNP on on the Gateway. I called Google support and ended up finding it was something about the connection with the Gateway since those apps I was having trouble opening would work just fine if I made my phone a hotspot and connected to it.

To mirror an Android device, open the Chromecast app on it (the Chromecast app is now known as Google Home), tap on the burger menu in the top left corner (this looks like three lines together), tap on Cast Screen/Audio, and then choose your Chromecast device. I ended up just switching to an ethernet connection and this helped and I was getting 120 mbs on the chromecast but even still some apps say they cannot connect. You can also mirror the display of an Android device to a Chromecast streaming stick without using Wi-Fi. I could not understand what was going on since my chromecast was literally right next to the gateway. I have a gigabit connection and was using ATT's 5268AC's hardware for my wifi. This was happening to me a lot! Over wifi, it took me over an hr to setup the chromecast since it would just drop connection in the middle of setup and I'd have to try again.
